It would come as a surprise to many Indians, that Hindi is not the National language of India. Infact, Indian does not have any language as national language. India being the country of diversity includes linguistic diversity in it.
Keeping Hindi as national language might have affected the sentiments and emotions of non-hindi speaking linguistic minorities.
Though it's true that Hindi is the language of majority but being a secular country it is not the national language.
Article 345 of the Indian constitution grants Hindi the status of official language.
